Antonio Longa

Postdoctoral Fellow

Postdoctoral Fellow - UiT The Arctic University of Norway, Department of Mathematics and Statistics

Academic interests

Longa's research focuses on Graph Neural Networks, Network Science, and Complex Systems, with particular emphasis on temporal networks and explainability in machine learning. He is interested in both the theoretical foundations of relational and temporal learning and their applications to real-world systems, including areas such as energy systems, social systems, and materials science (e.g., metal-organic frameworks).

Background

Antonio Longa obtained a Ph.D. in Information and Communication Technology from the University of Trento and the Bruno Kessler Foundation (FBK) in 2023, graduating magna cum laude. His doctoral research focused on understanding social interactions through temporal network analysis.

He previously earned an M.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Trento (110/110 cum laude) and a B.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Milano-Bicocca. Before joining UiT, he served as Assistant Professor (RTD-A) in Information & Communication Technology at the University of Trento. During his research career, he has also held research visits at institutions including the University of Cambridge and Aix-Marseille University.

Antonio Longa is an ELLIS member and actively contributes to the machine learning and network science communities through research, collaborations, and academic service.
